Here’s a sneak peek at a few of our annual events:

International Potlucks
Taste dishes from around the world, or share special recipes from home. At our potlucks, everyone has a chance to share a dish from their home country. Conveniently held on campus, potlucks are free to all ISAY members with a meal.

Neighbourhood Tours
Not sure where to go grocery shopping? Looking for ethnic food? Not sure how to get downtown? ISAY is there to help you find your way. We will help you find your way around York and the surrounding areas.

The Explore Toronto Series

These series of events which occur throughout the year give ISAY members a chance to get off-campus and discover the big city of Toronto. We are planning discounted tours, visiting top Toronto tourist attractions such as the CN Tower,  the Toronto Zoo, Kensington Market, Toronto’s famous cultural neighbourhoods and more.

Annual Thanksgiving Dinner
An ISAY staple, our annual Thanksgiving Dinner is for those who can’t go home over the thanksgiving break or those who just want to come together and have some good food. We are here to celebrate with you!

WINTER 2011 EVENTS

WELCOME BACK!

1. KOREAN BBQ

Friday 28th Jan. Meet at Golden Statue in Student Centre for 6pm. TTC tokens provided and $10 off a meal for ISAY MEMBERS ONLY. Registration required at ISAY office. Registration closes on STRICTLY on Wed 26th Jan. NO EXCEPTIONS!

2. SNOW TUBING

Feb 5th. Meet at Vari Hall for 8:45am. Free for ISAY members. Ticket can be secured with a deposit of $10. Deposit will be returned upon attendance. Limited tickets so get them early.  Tickets available from Monday 24th Jan at ISAY office.

3. FRENCH CANADA TOUR

February 19th to the 21st. ISAY members $140 for a room for 4 persons. $210 for a room for 2 persons. Non-members $219 for a room for 4 or $289 for a room for 2 persons. Tickets on sale soon

Saturday, March 27: ISAY Formal Dinner

Winters Dining Hall
$10 ISAY Members
$15 Non-members

Buffet Dinner and Dance. Great Prizes and Wonderful Company to share the night with.

Join us this Saturday for ISAY's final event of the year. What better way to end the year and get in gear for the exams than having good food and chilling with your friends from all over the world.

The Menu: Buffet Style Dinner with Great Range of Choices

Appetizers:
Caesar with Spiced Croutons
Tomato Cucumber Indian Salad with Lemon Juice and Cilantro
Bread basket,

Entrée Choices:
Chicken Do Payza
Curried Quarter Chicken served with Saffron Pilaf and Eggplant and Potato Ratatouille. Includes Papadum and Chutney.
Vegetarian Lasagna
Prepared with Eggplant, Zucchini, Red Peppers, Fresh Herbs, a blend of three cheese (Mozzarella, Cottage Cheese, and Feta). Served with a Tomato Cream Bechamel Sauce.
Gingered Salmon
Filet of Salmon, marinated in Ginger, Teriyaki and Honey and baked to perfection. Served with Wild Rice and Seasonal Vegetables.
Asian Chicken or Beef Stir-fry
Tender strips of Beef or Chicken, Mushrooms, Broccoli, Peppers, Carrots, Bean Sprouts, Onion and Bok Choy tossed in a traditional wok with Soya Sauce, Oyster Sauce and Ginger, served over Jasmine Rice or Egg Noodle.

Dessert:
Assorted sweets and cakes

Free soft drinks, juice and water

CAMPAIGN PERIOD: Saturday, March 20 – Tuesday, March 23

ALL CANDIDATES DEBATES: Tuesday, March 23
- Debate 1 scheduled for 2.30pm
- Debate 2 scheduled for 5pm
- All candidates debates will take place on Tuesday, March 23rd
- There will be 2 candidates- debates to allow for people to meet the candidates and hear from them.
- Candidates ( or their representatives) are expected to attend both All Candidates Debates.

VOTING: Tuesday, March 23, 10am-6pm
- Voting will take place on one day Tuesday, March 23rd from 10am-6pm
- Voting will start after the first Candidates Debate at 10am and will end at 6pm after the last Candidates- Debate

Friday, March 12: ISAY Social

Renaissance Room (001 Vanier College), 6pm-10pm

Take a break from your homework and enjoy Friday evening with ISAY! Have some free refreshments, mingle and make new friends from around the world! You can bring friend to the event - no registration required.
Let this night be a great one!

Saturday Feb 13 - Monday Feb 15: FRENCH CANADA TOUR

Visit Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City

$160 for members**, $210 for non-members

Includes transport, accommodation, guided tours, entrance to Montreal & Quebec clubs and Quebec's Winter Carnival - (AWESOME DEAL)

**Only ISAY Members before January 31 2010 will qualif y for membership discount.

Accomodations: 4 people/room (you choose your roommates on the bus), $100pp extra for smaller room requests (3/room, 2/room)

We're stopping at the Hotel de Glace (Ice Palace)!

Meet the bus at Vari Hall on SATURDAY, 13 February, 2010 at 6.15am, the tour bus leaves York promptly at 6.30am

If you do not live on/near campus, you can meet the tour bus at York Mills Subway Station at 6.45am (Look for the ISX Tour Bus). You MUST email isay@yorku.ca if you will be meeting the bus at York Mills.
