ISAY Alumni Network

The ISAY Alumni Network is a brand new initiative by the undergraduate community service group, International Students’ Association at York (ISAY).

It is essentially an informal group of current and former international students at York University. Membership to the ISAY Alumni Network is open to all former international and exchange students of York University and any individual who supports the goals and purpose of the Network.

The network is to help international students maintain the links they made with their peers while completing their studies. Not only will this be a meeting place for international student graduates, offering comprehensive information about health insurance and other concerns, but it will also be a way to foster links between current students and experienced graduates.

What does the ISAY Alumni Network do?

1. Social Events

ISAY Alumni Network will host social events to celebrate international students who have experienced York as well as to create opportunities to network. Members of the ISAY Alumni Network will receive similar discounts as ISAY members for trip and events.

2. I-Links Program

I-Links (International-Links) is a unique program that aims to bring together international alumni with current international students who are preparing to graduate. I-Links aims to connect York international students with the multitude of successful York Alumni in Canada and around the globe.

You can volunteer your time and expertise in many ways. I-Links will consist of a series of workshops including panel discussions from alumni that touch on issues such as immigration and permanent resident applications, career search and accessing the job market workshops, rental and housing. There will also be informal networking events, professional development opportunities etc. Alumni participating in I-Links will be encouraged to share their contact information with students who are part of the program. This will aid in creating established contacts. Students and Alumni are required to sign up for the I-Links Program.

Goals of the ISAY Alumni Network:

• Organize networking opportunities that foster business, professional and social contacts for international students graduating from York University programs
• Provide resources and support for international students and ISAY members through student & alumni networking events and mentorship.
• Facilitate international business, corporate, educational and community partnerships through maintenance of a working ISAY Alumni Network contact database

• ISAY Alumni Network is under the auspices of the ISAY Student Affairs Director.
